The app was released in 2015, and a partnership was established with a nonprofit organization called Mosaic Family Services. Reports submitted through the app were sent directly to Mosaic, who decided if the information should be shared with the Dallas Police Department. In the project’s second phase, I worked to educate specific communities on how to identify and report human trafficking. Through this work, I learned that all voices connected to an issue, including survivors of human trafficking, needed to be an integral part of the solution.
