Students focused on the development of a scrollytelling website, an interactive experience of scrolling through the telling of a story.
Students were asked to select one person from the books by Vashti Harrison; Little Legends Exceptional Men in Black History, Little Legends Bold Women in Black History, Little Dreamers Visionary Women Around the World. Students learn methods in the design process in order to create a successful storytelling experience for the person they select. The final deliverable for this course is an interactive website that tells the story of the person each student selected. When selecting the content each student uses to build their story, I ask them to consider:
- Who writes stories?
- Who benefits from stories being told from that perspective?
- Who is excluded from stories?
